Whats is the minimum amount of Pokemon games needed to get all 493 Pokemon?

What games do I need to get all the Pokemon? Thanks.|||if you got Heartgold and soulsilver for kanto and johto and then got emerald for hoenn finally got platinum for sinnoh you should be able to complete the whole pokedex using the pal park and the union room and just to finish off you will need pokemon ranger for manaphy.

But you need to remember wifi as some legendaries can only be got through wifi.

i've got all of them and well it is very annoying trying to get all the pokemon.|||Depends on what Pokemon games you're playing, but you would probably need about 4 games (ex. HeartGold, Ruby, Diamond, and Pearl). You would need D/P because Diamond has Skuntank and Pearl has Purugly, and they are not available in any other Pokemon games. You would need Ruby to get the Regis, Latios, and Groudon. And last, you would need HeartGold version to get the rest. However, there are some Pokemon that cannot be caught in-game, and you must obtain it in a trade, at an event, downloading it from a spin-off game (Pokemon Ranch, Pokemon Ranger, Pokemon Ranger 2, etc.) or downloading a special item over Wi-Fi that allows you to catch the Pokemon in-game. These Pokemon are: Mew, Celebi, Jirachi, Deoxys, Arceus, Manaphy, Darkrai, and Shaymin (you can include Phione in the list since it can only be obtained by beeding a Ditto with a Manaphy). So unless you have a cheating device, know some people who have all these Pokemon, have the spin-off games that have these Pokemon, or wait until there is another Nintendo event, there is no way to actually complete the National Pokedex with 493 Pokemon. Also, you will have to restart your games a few times to get the starters, since you can only pick one when you are asked to pick from three starter Pokemon.|||2 maybe 3. It can actually be 1 if a friend own all the pokemon games and the means of transferring them over between the games but that is a long process.|||Uhh...all I can say is good luck. It's virtually impossible unless you have a vast library of Pokemon-owning friends.|||2|||493
