Why do people love Pokemon games so much?

Theres a new pokemon game like every year. And it always sells in the millions. Why do people love these games? I am a gamer and love video games, but never played a Pokemon game like Pokemon Black or Pokemon Emerald, but when I se gameplays, i dont find that I am missing much.|||In all fairness they realease a proper game every five years, they make remakes inbetween them and an ultimatum version after that (Just good business sense).

But to answer why there good;

~ They are really long games

~ You personally build up your own team and thus the game becomes personal.

~ The plots aren't all that bad (Black/White had a very good story IMO)

~ Great gameplay mechanics

~ Online is great since it's your personal team battling

It's worth checking out black and white, I think a lot of people get put off either by how childish it looks, the fact they ahve never playe done or the amount of pokemon in the game now (In black and white, there are only 151 for the majority of the game)|||For someone that has never played Pokemon games before, I recommend you try at least one just for the experience. They don't look fun, but when you play them they are actually very fun for a lot of people including me. I grew up playing the Pokemon games when I was little and they were one of the very first pokemon games I've ever played. It really depends on what type of gamer you are though.

Pokemon isn't about violence and guns. It's about having your own unique and powerful team against other trainers, battling, trading, competition, catching, exploring new lands, etc. The games are usually rather long, so it keeps you busy. There's always change to the games too. Every few years or so new Pokemon games come out as well as new generations. There's new adventures, new Pokemon, new plots, and new villains. I can't really tell you everything about it, because you have to experience the game first to know what it's like. I really recommend you try at least one Pokemon game though. It's really worth the experience, whether you'll like it or hate it. =]|||Well Pokemon has been through the entire 21st century so far, and has made a lot of money selling overpriced cardboard with shiny pictures and popular TV shows. The shows have caused a need for people to want their own Pokemon. This is where the video games come in. They are really long and are collectibles on their own (Check out how much a used Emerald Version is worth on Game Stop 0.0). The games are long, the multiplayer is fun and simple enough for anyone to play. The plot is something they make you to want to complete so you can catch the rare one of a kind Pokemon. The game has so many Pokemon and things to do, people to battle. You'll be immersed in it for hours, and since 90% of all Pokemon games are on A Gameboy or Nintendo DS of some sort, you can take it on the go,. That portability allows you to chew away countless hours of boring car and plane rides, thus having addiction set in.

All of this together is a cocktail of success for the companies that profit off these games. And a cocktail of enjoyment for the kids who play this, and the parents who only hear quiet clicking away from a gaming device when they look at their kid.|||Pokemon is iconic. It's timeless. Financially the Pokemon Series has made hundreds of millions without slightly changing anything about it, which is genius. You are missing out on a lot. Its like saying why do people like Lord of the Rings or Harry Potter. It's not something sane people question. And the ***** who said "my sister;she's so normal" Don't be such a ****. Your sister is special.|||I don't actually know... they're all the same plot:L I've only ever played one and got really bored coz I cba... My sister has finished them ALL and has two pokedex books:L She's so normal.|||The same reason i hate to see stupid questions|||because they are long and you always think there is more to do
